PRINCETON, N.J., March 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On behalf of the TMA Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher B. Greer as President and Chief Executive Officer of TMA. Chris comes to TMA from Japan Tobacco International's U.S. market where he served first as Regulatory Affairs Manager and then as Director and Department Head of Corporate Affairs & Communications. Chris's work at JTI focused on FDA, government relations, corporate communications, corporate and regulatory compliance, MSA management and anti-illicit trade. In addition, he served as the JTI representative to the TMA Board of Directors.
Chris brings a fresh perspective to the organization as both an end-user of TMA products and services and as an executive whose experience lies at the heart of many issues facing the industry. Chris is taking over at a time highlighted by industry changes and opportunities driven by regulation, sustainability and new product innovations.
As a member-driven organization, the TMA Board has charged Chris and the TMA staff with embracing industry change and ensuring TMA is responsive to the needs of a rapidly evolving industry. TMA is committed to providing its membership and the tobacco industry and investor community with value-added data and information services and open forums with stakeholders spanning the spectrum of thought on key issues.
Chris will be working with a talented and dedicated staff at TMA. In recognition of their contributions to the organization, in December 2016, we announced the promotions of Darryl Jayson and Roberta Crosby to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively.
We are extremely excited to expand the horizons of TMA through our refreshed mission and new leadership. Please join us in welcoming Chris to the TMA team.
