TMA International Honors Pittsburgh's Own Margaret Good with an Outstanding Individual Contributor Award
PITTSBURGH, June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Margaret Good, President and Founder of Pittsburgh-based The Meridian Group, was one of just two people honored with an Outstanding Individual Contributor Award at the 2014 Turnaround Management Association [TMA] Senate in Chicago earlier this month.
The event, held at the Fairmount Chicago Millennium Park on May 7-9, is an annual conference dedicated to helping professionals improve negotiating and strategizing skills. Each year during the Senate, TMA recognizes members who raise the public profile of the corporate restructuring industry through their volunteer services and dedication to the organization and its mission.
In 1988, at the request of a bank struggling to deal with troubled credit, Good started The Meridian Group, a pioneer in the development of receiverships as a vehicle of maximizing a creditor's return. Over the past 25 years, Good has successfully mentored, restructured, and re-engineered over 100 middle-market companies.
In 1999, Good founded the Pittsburgh Chapter of TMA, served as its president and went onto to assume numerous leadership positions with TMA International, including V.P. of Public Relations and President of the Certification Oversight Committee. During her more than three years as President of the Pittsburgh Chapter, Good worked tirelessly to grow membership and was instrumental in the chapter being named "Most Improved in 2000."
Her civic and professional accomplishments have made her one of the most accomplished and respected management professionals in the industry.
Over the span of her 26-year career, she has provided restructuring plans for many corporate turnarounds, acted as court-appointed trustee or receiver, financed over $600 million in various credit instruments, and successfully negotiated numerous merger and acquisition transactions.
"We are thrilled that Maggie received national acclaim for her remarkable contributions to the industry but also as an advocate for TMA. She is a true visionary whose work has helped to shape an industry. We are proud to claim Maggie as one of our own and applaud the legacy that she has built in the past 26 years," stated Kelly Szejko, executive director of TMA Pittsburgh.
