TMA Accepting Entries for Superior Student Research of Turnarounds
CHICAGO, March 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Turnaround Management Association, the leading global association for corporate restructuring and turnaround management professionals, is accepting entries for the Carl Marks Student Paper Competition until June 1.
Begun in 2003 to recognize outstanding graduate-level student achievement in the field, the Carl Marks Student Paper Award is made possible through the financial support of Carl Marks Advisory Group, LLC, in New York.
"Carl Marks is pleased to continue our support of the study of corporate turnarounds and restructuring through our sponsorship of the TMA paper competition," said Mark L. Claster, president of Carl Marks & Co. Inc. "We appreciate the opportunity to be part of the training of the next generation of restructuring professionals."
Qualifying papers must address one of two categories: a case study that focuses on a distressed company and how it could be turned around or an examination of theoretical and conceptual aspects of turnarounds or restructurings. TMA will present $3,000 first-place and $1,500 second-place prizes in each category.
Papers must have been written between May 31, 2011 and May 31, 2012 by students enrolled in and attending an MBA program or equivalent business-related master's degree program at an accredited university.
One author from each winning paper will receive expenses to attend the 2012 TMA Annual Convention, November 1–3, at the Westin Copley Place, in Boston, Mass.
The entry form and entry guidelines are available at turnaround.org/awards.
