TINTO For TECHO Gathers World Blue Chip Wineries To Empower Impoverished Communities In Latin America
TECHO calls on the wine community to raise awareness and funds to support the organization's work in transforming slums into organized communities in Latin America.
NEW YORK, June 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On May 28th 2015, the Pool Room at the Four Seasons Restaurant TECHO's hosted TINTO for TECHO, the 3rd fundraising dinner in a fun evening of entertainment and savouring of top wines from around the world paired with an exquisite three-course menu in support of TECHO's work in Latin American slums.
TECHO was able to fundraise $466,615. These funds will be allocated to build 187 transitional homes, one of TECHO's development programs.
Didier Depond, President of Champagne Salon and Delamotte and Marc Perrin, CEO of Chateau de Beaucastel introduced their wines to the guests and stand out their commitment to eradicate poverty.
Guests ranged from TECHO's network to members of Italian Wine Merchants' and Domaine Select Wine Estate's client base, including, wine collectors and enthusiasts, who are senior managers from the finance, banking, technology and media industries.
"Alongside overcoming poverty, TECHO has another crucial mission: to mobilize and empower youth globally, shaping the leaders of tomorrow. That is how, every year over 80,000 youth volunteers have worked side-by-side with families living in slums. TECHO's 3rd annual fundraising dinner was hosted by Jorge Mora, Senior Managing Director of Macquarie Group, Paolo Domeneghetti, CEO and Founder of Domaine Select Wine Estates, Sonia Dula, Vice Chairman for Latin America of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Sergio Esposito, CEO and Founder of Italian Wine Merchants, Pablo Calderini, President and Chief Investment Officer of Graham Capital Management and Martin Brand, Senior Managing Director of Blackstone.
The event was sponsored by Macquarie as the Grand Cru sponsor; Rhone, Domaine Select Wine Estate, Goldman Sachs and Italian Wine Merchants as the Premier Cru sponsors.
