Olympia Development of Michigan continues to bring new tenants to The District Detroit
DETROIT, March 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Tin Roof and Olympia Development of Michigan today announced that Tin Roof will join the city's continuing resurgence in The District Detroit. Tin Roof will be located at 47 East Adams, formerly occupied by Cheli's Chili Bar. Tin Roof will bring dozens of employees and its highly-successful combination of Southern-inspired "Better Than Bar Food," fun and live music to this high-profile location. Like other Tin Roof restaurants, the location in Detroit will create opportunities for local, emerging musicians to showcase their talents, along with regional and national artists across all genres.
"Detroit is such a great city with a great musical heritage and it has been on our radar for a long time," said Bob Franklin, CEO of Tin Roof. "We know this is the right time and we could not be happier with the location near Comerica Park, Ford Field and the historic Fox Theatre in The District Detroit."
Part of Tin Roof's goal is to create opportunities for its crew and musicians, while creating a unique atmosphere for those who love live music, good food and a fun time. Live music can be expected frequently, both indoors and on the rooftop deck.
"With additions like Tin Roof, this is a very exciting time for the city and for The District Detroit," said Travis Arbogast, Vice President of Development at Olympia Development of Michigan. "It is very rewarding to attract a wide variety of exciting and successful businesses like Tin Roof."
Unique Dining Destination: A Live Music Joint
The Original Tin Roof opened in 2002 near Nashville's famed Music Row and gave musicians a place to play and a place to hang out when they weren't on stage. The tasty food, fun, eclectic environment, "community of regulars" and friendly crew helped quickly establish "The Roof" as the place to be for musicians, anyone who likes good food and a good time. Over the years, their stages have hosted the famous, the should-have-been-famous and everyone in between.
Franklin predicts the Tin Roof in Detroit will be a busy place: "Live music, good service and good food are universal. Whether our guests are coming for the tunes, the food, a drink or just a good time, they can enjoy 'The Roof' and support live music and the musicians who bring it to us."
Unique Menu
Tin Roof's menu is loaded with plates created in house. Some highlights include:
- Dixie Biscuits - Three fried biscuit sliders, smoked brisket, bacon, peach jam and cheddar cheese
- Voodoo Shrimp Grinder - Shrimp & andouille sausage stewed Creole style with tomatoes, peppers, onions and spices on a garlic butter roll
- Candy Pig Mac & Cheese - Elbow pasta, brown sugar bacon, jalapeno queso, aged cheddar, herb bread crumbs and scallions.
"Tin Roof chefs have created an amazing culinary experience that more than keeps up with the live music that made 'The Roof' famous," Franklin said.
In addition to Tin Roof, The District Detroit has announced other new tenants including Sahara Restaurant & Grill, The M Den, Frita Batidos, the Detroit Medical Center Sports Medicine Institute, Warner Norcross + Judd LLP and Google. These new establishments will join the retail businesses at Little Caesars Arena, including Mike's Pizza Bar, Sports & Social Detroit, Kid Rock's Made in Detroit, The District Market and the Team Store. Additional tenants will be announced soon.
The District Detroit retail properties are represented by Scott Young and Ashley Ketko of CBRE. For more information on becoming a tenant, please call 248-353-5400.
