Times Square: 'Horse Brings Success' Art Celebrates New Year
NEW YORK, Dec. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Welcoming the New Year's Eve in New York, a massive influx of visitors visit the Times Square and millions watch the Times Square New Year's celebration Eve Ball's first ascent at 6 p.m. EST on December 31st at the Duffy Square Countdown Stage. In conjunction with the upcoming year of the Horse, Thomson Reuters LED Screen on their Times Square building displays and presents three major horse art pieces of a renowned Chinese masterful painter of horses - Yuan Xikun. The art pieces are on the display between December 29 and December 31, 2013 before the New Year's countdown.
As the best-seller Chinese painter and the top five contemporary artist, Yuan's horse paintings had been chosen as highlighted auction item, and largely presented as the culture and pop icon during public events. In 2012, Yuan's horse paintings were featured in the New York Mets' game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Citi Field.
Yuan is also an artist who made a successful transition from painting to sculpture creation. In recent years, his sculptures of international celebrities have been collected and inaugurated by foreign governments and museums, through which he became the champion to advance public awareness of public and installation art. His sculpture is included in numerous permanent collections, and had been collected and displayed in the following countries: Germany, Chile, Colombia, Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, Japan, Venezuela, and the United States. In 2012, Yuan's sculpture of "Sky-Patching: Goddess Nuwa" was successfully displayed at Times Square to celebrate the Earth Day.
