Time Warner Cable Business Class Adds New Connectivity Options for Business Customers
New Point of Presence in Telx Facility Part of a Long Term Strategy to Grow Enterprise Business
DALLAS, May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Time Warner Cable Business Class announced today that it has installed a new Point of Presence (POP) in the Telx data center facility in Dallas. The new POP further supports Time Warner Cable's Business Class strategy to build into data center facilities across Texas. Time Warner Cable Business Class selected to build into the Telx data center because it is one of the largest domestic interconnection and colocation data center operators. The new POP will serve Time Warner Cable's business service customers' connectivity needs, while providing additional interconnection opportunities for Telx's customers in the Dallas area. Also, the POP provides Time Warner Cable Business Class with the critical redundancy necessary to ensure business continuity in the event of a regional service outage.
"Time Warner Cable Business Class has made a strategic decision to extend its footprint in the Dallas metro area, and establishing a presence in Telx's local facility is key to that expansion," said John Owen, president of Time Warner Cable Business Class in Texas. "It's the first step in a long term strategy focused on building into data centers around the state to allow us to better compete against other major telecommunications providers in the enterprise space. By expanding our presence in data centers, Business Class will be better positioned to meet the needs of our largest customers."
Time Warner Cable Business Class also offers "last mile" connectivity to the Telx facility in Dallas. This means that current customers and other carriers can use Time Warner Cable Business Class to gain access to the facility. In addition, other carriers and companies can connect to Business Class for their long haul service needs.
Time Warner Cable Business Class' new POP is fully operational within Telx's facility in Dallas, and is also accessible by Telx customers collocated at the facility on Stemmons Freeway.
