"This recipe is a tasty take on traditional turkey stuffing, which adds the high quality ingredients of 100 percent all-beef Sliders and savory grilled onions for gourmet perfection," said White Castle Executive Chef Phillip Bach.
The Original White Castle Turkey Stuffing ingredients:
- 10 White Castle Sliders (fresh from the restaurant or frozen), pickles removed
- 1 1/2 cups diced celery
- 1 1/4 teaspoon each of ground thyme and ground sage
- 1 1/2 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
Simply tear burgers into small pieces; put them into a large mixing bowl with the celery, thyme, sage and black pepper; toss to combine. Add chicken broth and toss again. Stuff the mixture into the turkey cavity just before roasting.
"As a family-owned business, we're glad to see Craver families across the country making the White Castle turkey stuffing a staple of their Thanksgiving dinner," said Jamie Richardson vice president of White Castle.
While the turkey stuffing recipe is an old White Castle favorite, legions of Cravers across the land have been making unique Slider culinary creations for years. In fact, the turkey stuffing recipe was the catalyst for the Crave Time Cook Off Contest, held over the summer. Michael Butler, Sr., of Greenfield, Ind., won the contest with his White Castle Empanada recipe. Butler will receive a Crave Case of 30 Original Sliders every week for a year.
"My first job in high school was working at White Castle," said Butler. "I have been a lifelong Craver since my dad used to take me to White Castle as a kid. I work for a local homeless shelter, and I plan to share the White Castle Sliders with clients and staff at the shelter."
The rules for the Crave Time Cook Off were simple – each recipe must use 10 Original Sliders, including the buns. Pickles were optional. A team of trained culinary professionals selected the top three recipes and then Craver Nation voted for their favorite recipe.
