Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center Celebrates Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month
CHICAGO, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center, a leader in addiction treatment and recovery, has announced a series of events throughout campus to celebrate National Recovery Month. The events range from a signing of a Declaration of Independence from alcohol and drug abuse to a Candle Light Vigil to remember those who have lost the battle with alcoholism or drug addiction or who may still be suffering. The week will also highlight that recovery from addictive diseases is possible through effective treatment and recovery programs, self-help and mutual support and involvement of the recovery community.
To kick-off the events, Timberline Knolls received a proclamation from Lemont mayor Brian Reaves, fulfilling Timberline Knolls' request to recognize the month of September 2010 as Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in the community of Lemont.
"We are so grateful to Mayor Reaves for recognizing the importance of Recovery Month among the citizens of Lemont," said Kimberly Dennis, M.D. and medical director at Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center. "During this month, we are working to promote the message that addiction treatment works and recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction is attainable."
In addition to the proclamation, Timberline Knolls' Expressive Therapies manager, Melissa Rocchi, also has announced a series of events on campus to generate a greater awareness among Timberline Knolls residents about Recovery Month.
