Tim Hanks joins Carousel Industries from ExtraTeam

EXETER, R.I., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Tim Hanks has joined Carousel Industries as the Director of Datacenter Technologies. Tim is responsible for the overall direction of Carousel's datacenter and virtualization practice. Datacenter technologies are specifically focused on virtualization with VMware, but they extend heavily into several other areas which Tim will oversee. These areas include Datacenter switching, servers and blade server, storage area networks, and most importantly, storage. Tim will help develop architectures encompassing all these technologies to provide completed solutions for Carousel's customers. Besides developing a datacenter practice within, Tim will also be developing some products to put through Avaya's Dev Connect program. These will include Avaya's UC applications (OneX Mobile, OneX Portal, Modular Messaging, etc…) condensed onto a single appliance for inexpensive deployment of the entire suite. Tim will also be working with Dev Connect to push through support of Avaya's desktop applications (One-X Communicator, One-X Agent) for VMware's desktop virtualization platform, VIEW 4.

Tim comes to us from ExtraTeam in California where he was the Datacenter Practice Manager responsible for building a datacenter practice internally. Before that, he worked for an Avaya Business partner for many years during which time he acquired intimate knowledge of Avaya's Unified Communications platform. It was during this time that Tim first successfully virtualized these applications and unveiled them at VoiceCon in San Francisco.
