TIM & Muve Music Introduce Breakthrough Digital Music Service in Brazil
~ TIM customers will have unlimited music on the mobile phone
~-- TIMmusic offers unlimited music for daily pre-paid and monthly post-paid subscribers for a fixed amount, that will be charged only when the customer uses the service
-- TIMmusic makes music affordable for the Brazilian mass market consumer
RIO DE JANEIRO and LOS ANGELES, April 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TIM continues with its strategy of innovation and today announced a partnership with Muve Music to provide a pioneering unlimited music service. The new service will be offered to users of TIM's popular Liberty (post-paid) and Infinity (pre-paid) plans, which revolutionized the Brazilian market with innovative unlimited pricing for voice, text and data. With the launch of TIMmusic, music will now become a part of TIM's core offering. The revolutionary billing model for TIMmusic enables customers to download thousands of songs for only R$9.90 monthly post-paid and R$0.50 per day prepaid, where the subscriber is billed only on the day or the month in which the client uses the service. To encourage subscribers to experience the new service, new subscribers will be offered a free seven day trial.
"The idea is to introduce new benefits to Infinity and Liberty users, while also making it easy and affordable for consumers to legally download music over the mobile phone. We are bringing to music the same concept that revolutionized the use of voice, SMS and data in the Brazilian market. No carrier offers a plan as simple and affordable as TIM Brasil. Based on studies that show that 80% of Brazilians say that they are passionate about music, we decided to include music in our strategy to further enhance the experience of our customers," explains Roger Sole, CMO of TIM Brasil.
By a simple touch, TIMmusic enables users to download and listen to music on their mobile devices. Since it's not streaming, content is stored on the device and can be accessed at any time, even when the user is offline. There are no passwords or logins required and there are no data charges to use the service.
Another TIMmusic innovation is the full integration with Shazam, a music application that identifies music you hear and makes it available for download to your personal TIMmusic library. The service also includes a "My DJ" feature with pre-programmed playlists in all of the most popular genres.
Infinity customers only pay R$0.50 at the time of the 1st download or play of the day and receive unlimited access for the rest of the day until midnight. Liberty plan customers pay only for the month that they use the service, with unlimited access for only R$9.90 per month.
"TIMmusic billing design is a market differentiator. The customer is charged directly on his monthly bill or pre-paid credit. This method eliminates another barrier to legalized music on the phone which is the need of a credit card for payment of the service. Also the customer doesn't compromise his monthly budget with this service," comments Fabio Cristilli, Director de Internet, VAS e Handset da TIM Brasil.
Initially, the application is available for a broad selection of Android devices: Samsung: Galaxy SIII, Galaxy Mini SIII, Galaxy SII Lite, Galaxy Pocket, Galaxy Y, Galaxy Y Duos and Galaxy Ace and the Motorola Razr i. TIM will expand the offering of TIMmusic enabled devices throughout the year with the application either preloaded or available for download on Google Play.
