Tilman Fertitta's Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Raised $137,500 For Gary Sinise Foundation To Suppport Our Nation's Heroes

In celebration of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.'s 20^th anniversary, the restaurant held a nationwide fundraising campaign where beard cutouts were available for $1 at all 28 locations nationwide. The Forrest Gump-themed restaurant partnered with the Gary Sinise Foundation and Mountain Dew Kickstart for the official "Run Forrest Run" beard cutout campaign from May 26 – December 31, 2016.

"We are honored to present this check for $137,500 to support our nation's heroes and the Gary Sinise Foundation," said Fertitta. "We want to also thank our loyal Bubba Gump fans and everyone's efforts to support such a worthy cause. These brave men and women are the real 'Lieutenant Dans' of today's world and should be recognized for their sacrifices."

After purchasing the cutouts, guests were encouraged to take a photo with their beards and share on the restaurant's social media channels using hashtags #ForTheRealLt.Dans and #BubbaGumpTurns20.

Launched in 2011, the Gary Sinise Foundation supports America's active military, veterans and their families through a variety of special programs, including the Building for America's Bravest program that builds custom homes for severely wounded veterans and the Invisible Spirit Festivals, a day-long celebration that is intended to boost morale at military medical centers across the United States.
