Tigo Energy Achieves World's First TUV Certification For Smart Module Technology

LOS GATOS, Calif., Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tigo Energy^®, the market leader in SmartModule^™ technology for photovoltaic (PV) solar, today announced that they have received the industry's first ever certification for embedding their Tigo Energy Junction Box in PV modules for North America and Europe from TUV Rheinland Group.

This groundbreaking certification means that Tigo Energy technology is integrated seamlessly into solar panels and is available for purchase directly from leading module manufacturers.  A smart module features all the benefits of panel-level electronics such as fire safety, module level monitoring & MPPT, highest power density and efficiency, with the exact form factor as a traditional module. Integration means no additional installation costs, and reduced shipping, labor and maintenance as all the components are seamlessly manufactured into the module. Performance and safety related certificates for Tigo Energy's SmartModule Junction Box are tested and certified by the globally renowned certification institutions TUV Rheinland Group and TUV Rheinland North America.
