Ticketfly Appoints Derek Yung as CFO and Nate Underwood as VP of Engineering
Strategic additions strengthen Ticketfly's executive leadership team
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ticketfly, the software company reimagining the live event experience for promoters and fans, today announced two appointments to its executive leadership team: Derek Yung as its Chief Financial Officer and Nate Underwood as its Vice President, Engineering. Yung will report directly to co-founder and CEO Andrew Dreskin while Underwood will report to COO Steve Oliver.
Yung will drive the company's business strategy and growth, leading its finance, accounting, and IT teams. Previously, he served as CFO to several late-stage companies including Nextag and Tria Beauty. Underwood comes to Ticketfly with more than 16 years of experience in technology, operations, and engineering, including founding two companies and holding executive roles at Livefyre and Sony. He'll lead engineering efforts across the company.
"Nate and Derek are fantastic additions to the Ticketfly executive team," said Dreskin. "These guys are rock stars. And on the heels of our recent financing, they are joining up at just the right time as we scale the business to the next level. We are fired up to have them as part of the family."
"It's clear that Ticketfly, along with the entire live event space, is at an inflection point," said Yung. "Given the technology trends—especially in social, mobile, and SaaS—I think there are so many things the industry can do and so much innovation that has yet to happen. That innovation can and will happen with Ticketfly, and I'm ecstatic to be a part of that growth and chapter of the company."
"What has me really electrified about Ticketfly is that we are truly emerging as a powerhouse technology company and are poised for tremendous success," Underwood said. "We're going to continue building out a robust platform that addresses the diverse needs of clients—from general admission standing-room only clubs, to the biggest arenas in the world."
This past summer, Ticketfly closed a $50 million investment to continue investing in people and product, make strategic acquisitions and partnerships, and move upstream into adjacent verticals and larger facilities. Yung and Underwood will be champions for the company as it accelerates development of its industry-leading software platform and creates a reimagined live event-going experience for fans.
