DALLAS, April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments (TI) Incorporated was recognized among the world's 100 best corporate citizens today by Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine, ranking 25, up from 26th last year, on the magazine's 13th annual "100 Best Corporate Citizens" list. This is the 10th time TI has received this honor.
The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List is based on more than 360 data points of disclosure harvested from publicly-available information and ranks the large-cap Russell 1000® companies on their performance on seven fronts: environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, employee relations, financial performance and governance. The list has gained national recognition as an indicator of best practices in the area of social responsibility.
"TI is honored to again be named to this widely-recognized corporate responsibility ranking because it reflects the company's continued progress and dedication to social responsibility, environmental stewardship and economic growth," said Trisha Cunningham, TI's chief citizenship officer. "This distinction testifies to our core values of high ethical standards and social progress."
The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List, first published in 1999 by Business Ethics Magazine, is a corporate responsibility ranking based on publicly-available information. The list is compiled by environmental, social and governance investor data firm IW Financial.
TI provides a detailed annual report of its corporate citizenship activities on the company's website at www.ti.com/csr. The 2011 report, which highlights the company's continued commitment to stellar citizenship and transparency in operations, is due to be made public in late May this year. It is used by a variety of stakeholders, including customers, analysts and shareholders, to understand TI's social and environmental performance as well as future risks and opportunities.
