Thycotic Names Steve Kahan Chief Marketing Officer
Fast-Growing Privileged Account Management Security Provider Adds Marketing Executive with Proven Ability to Produce Breakthrough Revenue Growth
WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Thycotic, a provider of privileged account management solutions for over three thousand organizations world-wide, announced today that Steve Kahan has been named Chief Marketing Officer. Kahan will lead Thycotic's global marketing communications, shaping the key strategies to position the company to build on its eight consecutive quarters of record revenue growth and recent investment by Insight Venture Partners.
"From the CISO on down, IT security professionals are in the hot seat these days to protect their organizations' sensitive data," said Kahan. "Privileged account usernames and passwords are the number one targets for hackers and malicious insiders today, and Thycotic is emerging as a market-leader in this space because of its ability to offer privileged account management security solutions that provide superior value when compared to alternatives. While we currently have some larger competitors like CyberArk, it is my mission to make Thycotic the first choice among enterprise community for privileged account management security."
With over 25 years of strategic marketing experience, Kahan has consistently put in place strategies that deliver breakthrough revenue growth in competitive marketplaces. Prior to joining Thycotic, he served as CMO at PHD Virtual through its acquisition by Unitrends in 2013. There, he built and implemented a lead generation strategy and innovative awareness programs that collectively sourced more than 60 percent of all new business. As Vice President of Marketing at Quest Software, a $1 billion public software company, Kahan built and implemented a global marketing strategy that increased revenue by more than 16%. Kahan has also held CMO positions at The Planet (acquired by SoftLayer), Bindview (acquired by Symantec), Postini (acquired by Google) and PentaSafe (acquired by NetIQ).
"In order to take Thycotic to the next level, we needed to hire a proven leader that not only understood our privileged account management technology, but also how we needed to position ourselves, from both a company and technology perspective," said Jonathan Cogley, CEO and founder of Thycotic. "We're thrilled to have Steve on our team, and look forward to working together to make Thycotic to become the premier provider of Identity and Access Management Solutions for the enterprise."
