WASHINGTON, Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Thycotic, provider of privileged account management (PAM) solutions for more than 10,000 organizations worldwide, today announced that its Secret Server Government Edition v10.0 solution has achieved Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Protection certification, conforming to the U.S. Government approved Protection Profile for Enterprise Security Management Identity and Credential Management v2.1. Common Criteria is an international standard (ISO/IEC 15408) for information security certification.
"Governments and global enterprises alike are looking for ways to better secure their privileged credentials," said Jai Dargan, Vice President of Product Management at Thycotic. "With Common Criteria, organizations have the confidence that Secret Server has met the most stringent, internationally-recognized standards around secure design of a PAM solution, allowing companies to save valuable time and resources in their evaluation process so they can accelerate their PAM deployment strategy."
This evaluation gives government agencies and private sector enterprises a reliable third-party assurance of IT security capabilities needed to compare products. Secret Server Government Edition v10.0 was evaluated conforming to Protection Profile for Enterprise Security Management and Identity and Credential Management v2.1, which focuses on enforcement of identity and credential management.
In June, Thycotic was also selected as an approved vendor of The Department of Homeland Security's Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program, which secures the cybersecurity of government networks and systems. This certification validates the importance and trust in Thycotic's solutions to protect the nation's most critical assets.
Thycotic's Secret Server v10.0 was evaluated by CygnaCom Solutions' Common Criteria Security Evaluation Laboratory (SEL), accredited by the Canadian Common Criteria Scheme and NIAP to evaluate according to the Common Criteria (ISO/IEC 15408) and the Common Evaluation Methodology assurance activities.
"We are happy to confirm that Thycotic Secret Server v10.0 Government Edition was tested by CygnaCom Solutions in our Security Evaluation Lab and that Thycotic's solution met the Common Criteria standards," said Nithya Rachamadugu, Director of CygnaCom Solutions Evaluation Laboratory.
