THX partners with Warren Theatres in all THX Certified 18 auditorium theatre complex, featuring the market introduction of two Grand Infinity Auditoriums set to revolutionize the moviegoing experience
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Warren Theatres® is slated to open their biggest and best theatre complex yet on December 23, 2014 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma featuring 18 state-of-the-art THX® Certified auditoriums. The $43.5 million Broken Arrow Theatre is one of the most technologically advanced in the nation and marks the debut of the first ever Grand Infinity Auditoriums™. With an ongoing partnership of over 25 years, THX and Warren Theatres have been in close collaboration on this project, working to ensure that every auditorium in the Broken Arrow Theatre delivers the finest quality and most immersive cinematic experience.
The theatre boasts two Grand Infinity Auditoriums, designed by Bill Warren to revolutionize the large format movie-going experience. These signature auditoriums feature THX Certification, innovative patented deep curved screens, 64-channel Dolby Atmos sound, and America's first and only 4K laser projector.
"As technology continues to evolve and cinemas continue to innovate, the ongoing challenge is for facilities to uphold quality standards and be able to accurately translate the director's true intent. We often see cinema operators eager to adopt the latest in audio or video technologies without a proper understanding of how this technology functions in their environment," said Jerry Zernicke, Director of Professional Services at THX Ltd. and lead design engineer for the Broken Arrow Warren Theatres project. "Warren Theatres has and continues to be devoted to delivering their audiences world-class cinematic experiences. When they approached us about this project, we were excited to work closely with their engineers to ensure their concept for these groundbreaking auditoriums could be designed and implemented to perform at the highest level. The results of over 14 months of collaboration are some of the finest auditoriums we've encountered and we are thrilled to achieve this milestone with Warren Theatres."
With over thirty years since its inception, the goal of the THX Cinema Certification program continues to be ensuring that the artist's vision is accurately translated to the moviegoer in the cinema identical to how it was created in the studio. The company's broad set of technology specifications and expertise enables cinema owners to design theaters that offer the highest level of audio and image performance. This is achieved through a unique combination of architectural analysis, equipment validation and the configuration of the theater itself. As technology advances and the industry evolves, THX's standards evolve as well, setting new industry benchmarks for acoustics, equipment choice, design and electronics.
