Annual event to focus on connection between youth sports and classroom achievement
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Samsung Electronics is leading a dream team of corporate sponsors supporting the 2nd Annual LA84 Foundation Summit, to be held tomorrow at the Foundation's historic West Adams campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Summit will convene a select group of leading researchers, educators, philanthropists and sports administrators from throughout the United States to share important research findings connecting sports participation and scholastic achievement. U.S. Olympic Committee CEO Scott Blackmun will be the keynote speaker.
At a time when shrinking budgets are threatening youth athletics programs, presenters will explain how access to sports and physical education advances overall academic achievement, and can also serve to increase the competitiveness of the next generation in the global economy.
