NEW YORK, June 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Neuberger Berman, one of the world's leading private, employee-owned investment managers, is pleased to announce that three managing directors, Stephanie Stiefel, Holly Newman Kroft, and Virginia Guy, were recognized by Barron's magazine as among the top ten nationwide, according to the magazine's 2015 Top 100 Women Financial Advisors list released June 8, 2015.
Ms. Stiefel, CPA, a newcomer to the list who oversees approximately $1.45 billion for clients and ranks #3 nationally according to Barron's, has been with the firm since 1990 and is currently a member of Neuberger Berman's Straus Group. Prior to joining the firm, Stephanie worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. as a personal financial planner and senior tax manager, specializing in tax consultation, financial planning and family wealth issues. She earned a BA from Queens College where she also later served as a Trustee and the Head of its Investment Committee and in 2014 was named Distinguished Alum of the Year. She serves on the Board of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at New York University and formerly on the Central Synagogue Board of Directors and Jewish Communal Fund Board. Although no longer a practicing accountant, she maintains her membership in the New York State Society of CPAs.
Ms. Newman Kroft, ranked #9 on this list, one notch higher than last year, joined Neuberger Berman as a Wealth Advisor in 2005. She works closely with ultra-high net worth individuals and their families to help develop customized investment solutions, including asset allocation design and estate planning. She also focuses on the unique investment needs of endowments and foundations. Ms. Newman Kroft, who oversees approximately $1.03 billion for clients, previously held investment banking positions at several institutions. She began her career in 1995 as an investment banking analyst at Oppenheimer & Company and later moved onto working at several boutique media advisory firms, specializing in private equity transactions, mergers & acquisitions and providing strategic advice to media and telecommunications companies. Holly received a BA from the University of Michigan. She was named #10 on Barron's Top 100 Women Financial Advisors list in 2014 and named #49 in New York on Barron's Top 1,200 Financial Advisors list earlier in 2015. In May, 2015, she was named to the inaugural listing of "50 Most Influential Women in Private Wealth" by Private Asset Management magazine.
Ms. Guy, ranked #10 by Barron's, re-joined Neuberger Berman in 1997. She was ranked #14 in Barron's 2014 Top 100 Women Financial Advisors list. As a wealth advisor overseeing approximately $1.04 billion in client assets, she uses her experience and expertise to build customized wealth management plans designed to help her clients achieve their unique investment goals spanning multiple decades and family generations. Prior to re-joining Neuberger Berman, she was the chief administrative officer and financial advisor for Grand Detour Associates, an ultra-high-net-worth family office. During this time she provided investment management, tax and estate planning guidance to her clients. Ms. Guy began her career at Neuberger Berman in 1985 as a portfolio assistant. Virginia attended the State University of New York, Rockland, and the New York Institute of Finance. She was also ranked #51 in New York in Barron's Top 1,200 Financial Advisors list for 2015.
"We are very excited for these exceptional women," said Kenneth Rende, Head of Wealth Management at Neuberger Berman. "Talent is always celebrated at Neuberger Berman and it is a testament to this fact that we have so many senior women who receive such significant industry recognition."
The Barron's ranking reflects the volume of assets overseen by the advisors and their teams, revenues generated for their firms and the quality of the advisors' practices. The scoring system assigns a top score of 100 and rates the rest by comparing them with the top-ranked advisor.
