Three Cheers for Avocado League MVP and BIG HIT Winner
Avocados from Mexico's all-star recipe contest announces Cherise's Avocado Mango Salsa as best avocado game day recipe
FALLSTON, Md., Nov. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- At the bottom of the ninth, Cherise Kachelmuss hit a grand slam with her Avocado Mango Salsa to capture the title of Avocado League MVP and BIG HIT winner. The Avocado League -- a recipe contest hosted by the Mexican Hass Avocado Importers Association (MHAIA) that celebrates women and their love for avocados and baseball -- recognizes the game day recipe featuring avocados that best embodies the spirit, passion and flavor of their hometown. Cherise's recipe received the most online votes, capturing the essence of Chicago -- by mimicking the melting pot community in her take of Avocado Mango Salsa -- to be named the BIG HIT.
"I've been preparing meals for my family with avocados for a long time, but I still can't believe my family-favorite Avocado Mango Salsa recipe got me named the BIG HIT MVP!" said Cherise. "The recipes from the other Avocado League members were truly spectacular so I am thrilled to be voted the winner!"
MHAIA and Avocado League Commissioner, Jennie Finch, a world champion professional softball player, congratulate the Avocado League All-Star winners:
