Three Bottles Manufactured by Ardagh Group, Glass - North America Win Clear Choice Awards Presented by Glass Packaging Institute
Industry awards recognize consumer products that leverage the most innovative, impactful glass packaging and design
MUNCIE, Ind., Nov. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ardagh Group, a leading producer of glass containers for the food and beverage industries in the United States, was awarded three Clear Choice Awards by the Glass Packaging Institute (GPI). The awards for Ardagh Group include glass packaging for Straus Family Creamery's Organic Milk; Moreno BHLV's California Sparkling Wine with Metallic Leopard Print; and Pernod Ricard's Seagram's Distiller's Reserve Gin.
Across the Clear Choice Awards categories, seven products were selected from among 71 entries by judges based on innovation, package design (including container label and closure) and consumer appeal. With these three new wins, Ardagh Group has produced glass packaging for more than 80 beer, wine, spirits, beverage and food products that have won Clear Choice Awards in the last 25 years.
The custom-designed, half gallon milk jug Ardagh Group manufactured for Straus Family Creamery's Organic Milk won GPI's 2014 Clear Choice Award in the Non-Alcoholic Beverage Category. When it comes to organic integrity, Straus Family Creamery recognizes the importance of packaging in glass to preserve the full, rich flavor of its organic milk.
The beautiful leopard print glass bottle Ardagh Group manufactured for Moreno BHLV's California Sparkling Wine won GPI's 2014 Clear Choice Award in the Wine Category. With metallic gold finish and hand-applied Swarovski Crystals, this unique glass packaging creates a fashion-forward, trend-setting statement with immense shelf appeal.
The customized, embossed bottle design Ardagh Group manufactured for Pernod Ricard's Seagram's Distiller's Reserve Gin won GPI's 2014 People's Choice Award. Packaged in glass to showcase clarity and preserve beverage quality, Seagram's Distiller's Reserve Gin is easily distinguished by its exclusive charcoal colored glass to maximize shelf impact and brand identity.

The panel of independent judges for the 2014 Clear Choice Awards included Paul Koning, Specialist/Instructor at Michigan State University School of Packaging; Angelica Sbai, National Director Wine & Spirits at Palm Restaurant Group; Richard Turcsik, Executive Editor at Grocery Headquarters Magazine; and Jarad Slipp, Estate Director at RdV Vineyards.
Awards were presented during a GPI reception at the PACK EXPO International Conference in Chicago.
