- Boca Raton Country Clubs Continue Tradition of Providing
BOCA RATON, Fla., Nov. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- St. Andrews Country Club, Mizner Country Club and, Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club continue the tradition of coming together to aid Congregation B'nai Israel of Boca Raton and Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in their 27th consecutive Feed the Hungry Program that provides Thanksgiving dinner to over 3,000 area residents on Tuesday, November 22. St. Andrews Country Club became involved in 2009 when the partnership abruptly found themselves without their annual donation from Mario's, a Bova Restaurant as a result of the Scott Rothstein investigation.

The partnership once again contacted Craig Martin, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of St. Andrews Country Club to reach out to his colleagues to provide side dishes this year. Martin commented, "I personally had the opportunity last year to participate and hope to attend this coming Tuesday. What has become an annual event is rewarding for all parties involved and I am once again inspired by the St. Andrews Country Club Board of Governors and my fellow Club Managers Association members who continue to provide all of the items requested."
"Craig Martin and his colleagues Larry Savvides, General Manager of Mizner Country Club and Chuck Lehner, Chief Operating Officer/General Manager of Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club were quick to respond to our needs. We are so thankful to all of the area clubs and want to express our gratitude to them, and especially to Craig for his support," said Janyce Speier, a Feed the Hungry volunteer and St. Andrews Country Club member.
Between the three country clubs enough mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, rolls and stuffing is being provided to help Congregation B'nai Israel of Boca Raton and Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church once again continue their commitment to feed those who need a little help and a warm smile this year. Over 3,000 people, mostly children, come from Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Delray Beach and West Palm Beach are expected to partake in this 27-year-old tradition of fellowship, love and respect. Each person will also leave with a small leftover treasure for them to eat during the rest of the week.
The Feed the Hungry Thanksgiving feast will take place on November 22 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 200 NE 12 Street, Boca Raton, FL 33432. Directions: Take Dixie Highway south and turn left after Glades Road. Follow the road around to the left of the church.
