NEW YORK, July 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CE Week concluded yesterday after two jam-packed days of interactive exhibits and engaging conference sessions. From connected lifestyle to augmented reality/virtual reality, eSports to hot button issues for the 50+ tech set, the show had something for everyone. Over the course of the two days, there were hundreds of products on display and more than 20 conference sessions and demos attracting thousands of geeks, media and CE industry professionals from across the nation.
CE Week kicked off on Tuesday evening with an Opening Night Party at B&H Photo Video. Guests explored the store, talked to the B&H experts and learned about the latest tech from home automation and drones to virtual reality and gaming.
Hundreds of press attended the CE Week Exclusive Media Event powered by Showstoppers, getting a first look at new technology debuting at the show. Waylens launched Secure 360 WiFi, a dash cam that allows for high-definition image capture inside and surrounding the user's vehicle, MEGAComfort announced Energysole, an insole activity tracker and TiTAN Platform US debuted TiTAN Core™, an all-in-1 smart home device that enables consumers to access unlimited multimedia content, plus manage and control their connected smart home devices.
Tech enthusiasts were invited to attend CE Week through its partnership with getgeeked Media. The line outside the Metropolitan Pavilion started to form several hours before the doors opened for getgeeked New York Wednesday night and ultimately stretched several city blocks. Almost 1500 passionate geeks took over the CE Week show floor from 5pm to 8pm where they had the same access to the exhibits as the press and industry professionals.
The CE Week Conference Program covered hot topics including connected lifestyle, augmented reality/virtual reality, eSports, senior tech and beyond. Also part of the conference was a keynote address from Indiegogo's Head of Hardware, Technology and Design Sales, John Vaskis, who detailed what the process of using Indiegogo is like for manufacturers or those who simply have a brilliant idea.
Several product awards were given out for 'Best in Show', presented by Dealerscope, which was awarded to sixteen companies with the industry's coolest products and technologies: Pioneer Electronics, Cleer, Westinghouse Electronics, Fantem, Whistler Group, Olibra, Focal North America, JLab Audio, Olive & Dove, Odyssey Toys, REM-Fit, MEGAComfort, Waylens and JBL by HARMAN.
CE Week honored ten enterprising New York City students from across the five boroughs at the inaugural 'Young Innovators to Watch' awards competition. This year's recipients are already making an impact, taking on real-world Issues and solving them creatively using technology. Their winning projects include an algorithm that accurately measures lithium-ion battery percentages and a smartphone device that records customizable studio-quality sound. These projects also rise to the challenge to resolve existing societal issues, such as water quality, food waste and physical injuries sustained by the visually impaired.
For the third year the Annual TV Shootout™ was held at CE Week where an esteemed panel of judges including professionals that represent a broad cross section of the content creation side of the business, convened to determine the best TV in three distinct categories: dark room (reference home theater), bright room (HDR), and streaming performance. As the show concluded, LG Electronics' LG E7 OLED 4K Ultra HD TV was named the winner in all three categories, competing among five contending models from other leading brands.
