Thousands of Dental Professionals to Attend ADA's 151st Annual Session
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thousands of dental professionals, including more than 7,000 dentists, will arrive here to attend the American Dental Association's (ADA) 151st Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibition at the Orange County Convention Center from Oct. 9 through Oct. 12.
While in Orlando, the more than 23,000 dental professionals, including 1,000 international attendees from nearly 80 countries, will gain firsthand knowledge of the latest products, technologies and techniques in dentistry. Attendees are estimated to spend nearly $26 million during their visit.
Leaders in dental practice, research, academics and industry will present nearly 250 scientific sessions over four days. The scientific programs include lectures, hands-on workshops and special conferences, with the goal of providing attendees with current and useful information for immediate use in their practices.
New this year is the "Open Clinical and Science Forums," hosted by the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs and The Journal of the American Dental Association in which clinicians, scientists and expert opinion leaders will present a variety of thought-provoking concepts on some of the most pressing topics of our time.
The World Marketplace Exhibition, Education in the Round
The World Marketplace Exhibition, which opens Saturday and lasts through Monday from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., provides dental professionals a full three days to view and compare dentistry's latest products and services from over 540 exhibiting companies. Also on the exhibit floor is the ADA's exclusive Education in the Round (EIR) that offers live patient procedures in a fully functional dental operatory. EIR procedures also are available as free simulcasts to ADA members and dental school students.
Opening General Session features best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell
The ADA kicks off its Annual Session on Saturday, October 9 at 8:00 a.m., with celebrated author Malcolm Gladwell as its "2010 Distinguished Speaker." Known for his incomparable gift of interpreting new ideas in the social sciences, he makes them understandable, practical and valuable to businesses and general audiences.
