Thompson & Knight Establishes Legal Internship Pipeline Program for Dallas ISD Students

DALLAS, July 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce the development of a legal internship pipeline program to encourage students from the Dallas Independent School District to pursue careers in the legal field.  In launching the program, Thompson & Knight is hosting two interns, Bre'Ann Geter and Tyffany Robles, for a six-week program this summer.

"This initiative demonstrates Thompson & Knight's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession by offering students from racially, ethnically and economically diverse backgrounds a real-world opportunity to explore law as a profession," says Nichole Dotson-Olajuwon, Thompson & Knight's Chief Diversity Officer. 

Robles, a senior at the Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet, plans to attend Southern Methodist University and eventually attend law school.  After completing her senior year at James Madison High School, Geter plans to attend Sam Houston State University and major in Criminal Justice. 

Thompson & Knight's legal internship pipeline program aims to expand the students' knowledge of law-related professions by providing the interns the opportunity to work closely with designated mentors and assist the Firm's various departments through shadowing activities.  Partners Adrienne E. Dominguez and Nicole Williams are serving as Robles's and Geter's mentors.
