CHICAGO and INDIANAPOLIS, June 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas "Tom" Rodems, who has been involved in golf course management since 1967, has been named Chief Agronomist for Green Golf Partners (GGP) and the many courses that GGP operates. The appointment was effective June 1, 2016.
In his new position, Rodems will oversee the course agronomy for GGP's courses throughout the Midwest and Southeast United States. Rodems is a graduate of Penn State University's turf program, and has held several prestigious superintendent posts.
Using hands-on experience to provide uncommon insight, Tom focuses on differentiating the needs of various operations and what works best for a particular course, considering budget geographical location and other variables. His studies in accounting give him further expertise in developing budgets and implementing buying programs to take advantage of GGP's economies of scale.
"Every golfer, regardless of his or her ability, wants to play a course that is in optimal condition to have the finest golfing experience," says Matt McIntee, CEO of Green Golf Partners. "Tom's proven expertise in course agronomy will enable golfers at our facilities to enjoy their games on courses managed to maximize the course's playing potential under the best of conditions."
"I'm delighted to return to my early love of agronomy to help GGP maintain its roster of excellent golf courses throughout the country," said Rodems. "Golfers at our courses expect a first-rate playing experience based on our well-earned reputation for maintaining our courses at the highest level. I look forward to leading GGP's team of golf course superintendents to ensure that our facilities continue to meet and exceed the highest professional standards."
