Thomas J. Henry Injury Attorneys Recognized for Top Verdicts in 2013
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas J. Henry Injury Attorneys, the personal injury firm leading the nation in GM recall injury and death litigation, has been recognized by the National Law Journal for having one of the Top 100 verdicts in the country in 2013 and by Texas Lawyer for having three of the top Texas verdicts for the year.
The firm secured several multi-million dollar jury verdicts in 2013, including a $25 million award on behalf of Leo Davila, who suffered serious and permanent injuries in a workplace accident (Cause No. 10-60874-00-0-1). Other verdicts recognized include $5.4 million for a company vehicle accident resulting in neck and back injuries and another company vehicle accident in a Bexar county. The firm also recovered other multi-million dollar settlements for clients in 2013.
"Year after year, the firm is recognized for obtaining some of the largest jury verdicts in the country," Thomas J. Henry stated. "I believe the firm's commitment to the client separates us. Clients who honor us by allowing the firm to represent them deserve the best legal service possible. That means being absolutely prepared to go in front of a jury to tell their story each and every time."
Firm Recognized Second Year in a Row
This is the second year in a row the firm has been recognized for top verdicts in Texas and in the United States. Last year, Thomas J. Henry was recognized for a $24 million jury verdict obtained on behalf of a client who injured her back in a collision with a Coca Cola company vehicle. She underwent a one level fusion as a result of the accident. The Coca Cola employee was talking on her cell phone and was distracted at the time of the accident. The $24 million jury verdict was included in the National Law Journal's "Top 100" list and was named the year's #1 Back Injury Verdict in the country.
Leo Davila Case Named a 2013 "Top 100 Verdict"
The firm's top verdict of the year, which was recognized by both the National Law Journal and Texas Lawyer, was obtained in May of 2013 on behalf of Leo Davila. Leo Davila was working as a security guard in 2008 when he was attacked by an unknown assailant. He suffered head injuries which left disabled.
Davila retained Thomas J. Henry Injury Attorneys to represent him. The firm sued Premium Assets, the building management company, claiming they failed to provide adequate security and safe work environment for Davila. Thomas J. Henry Injury Attorneys brought in leading security experts and neurologists to present the case to the jury.
The Texas jury found Premium Assets liable for Davila's injuries and awarded $25 million.
