Thomas Cook and Trip Advisor Reveal Award-winning Family Hotels
LONDON, August 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Perfect holidays need great accommodation and recent hotel awards give you the chance to pick and choose from the best Europe has to offer.
Trip Advisor and Thomas Cook have got together to release the top 25 hotels for families as rated by holidaymakers who stayed in the resorts. Whatever the type of break you're planning, your accommodation gives you the chance to recharge for the next day, leaving you to tackle family-sized meals on cheap Benidorm holidays, party on the Malia strip or simply rest poolside in the sunshine.
Home and Away
You don't have to travel overseas to stay in top accommodation; in fact the highest rated hotel in Trip Advisor's Travellers' Choice 2012 awards is located in Newquay. The popular seaside resort is home to the Sands Resort Hotel and Spa, which got the most favourable reviews thanks to its child-friendly amenities and sweeping views from sea-facing suites.
Holidaymakers seeking Spanish sun won't be disappointed by the amount of highly rated hotels topping the list. If you're going on holidays to Majorca then you're spoilt for choice as seven hotels from the Spanish island feature in the awards. These include Protur Bonaire Aparthotel in Cala Bona - the 2nd highest-rated hotel - and Viva Palma Nova, which came in at number 13 in Europe. It won acclaim for its pools and location to all the amenities in Magaluf.
Battle of the Islands
Cheap holidays to Spain are a Brit-trip staple and have been for many years, but other locations are just as popular. Greek hospitality, ancient sites and volcanic sand beaches tempt holidaymakers to many islands off the Grecian mainland. Rhodes offers excitement via nightlife and snorkelling, scuba diving and other beach sports, as well as the calm and quiet at smaller resorts, such as Kolimbia. It is close to Rhodes Town and is also the location of award-winning accommodation Holiday Village Rhodes. The complex has lots of fun activities for kids and relaxation opportunities for mums and dads.
Cyprus is another family favourite for low-cost holidays thanks to its Mediterranean location and short flying times. Byzantine relics lie side-by-side with modern resorts, rugged mountains and lively towns. Paphos is the ancient capital of the island and visitors to the historic location rated the Avanti Village resort 19th best in Europe due to its spacious apartments, beautiful grounds and close location to the harbour and sandy shores.
