Visit the Esperanza Center Health Clinic on Halloween day, Wednesday, Oct. 31, between 1-4 p.m. at 430 S. Broadway, 2nd Floor, Baltimore, MD, 21231, for free oral health screenings, oral cancer screenings, dental supplies and prevention tips to guard against oral disease. Upon diagnosis, some pro-bono work may be performed. Follow-up care may be recommended.
Prosthodontists, specialized dentists who have advanced training in oral health, want to give back to the local community. In addition to a free consultation with a prosthodontist about your personal oral health, the ACP Maryland Section is providing free oral health supplies such as toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste and helpful education materials to improve oral health. Simply brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time and flossing once a day wards off dental decay and keeps a smile healthy, white and youthful.
"People ask me how important it is to floss. My response is to only floss the teeth that you want to keep," said Lily T. Garcia, D.D.S., M.S., F.A.C.P., president of the American College of Prosthodontists.
"As a prosthodontist, I know that you've got to have some way to remove debris from in between your teeth."
More than 1,000 dental professionals are expected to attend ACP's 42nd Annual Session in Baltimore from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3, which includes prosthodontists, dental technicians and other dental industry authorities and guests. Annual Session topics include: new developments in CAD/CAM technology and high-strength ceramics; creating affordable dental health opportunities; understanding the shift toward precision medicine in dentistry; the use of digital imaging; sleep apnea management; the harmony of function and esthetics with digital technology; and a proactive team approach to avoid pitfalls with the cost-effective All-on-4 Concept.
From implants, crowns, veneers and tooth whitening, to full-mouth reconstruction, prosthodontists are specialists in digital dentistry and CAD/CAM solutions.
The American College of Prosthodontists is the professional association of dentists with advanced specialty training dedicated to optimal oral health both in function and appearance including dental implants, crowns, veneers, dentures, and teeth whitening.
