RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Credenz® soybeans continue to build momentum following the success of last season. University trial data and growers have reported a Credenz yield advantage for crop year 2016 over competitor brands and Bayer continues its commitment to ongoing innovation by bringing new varieties to the market.
The 2016 University Official Variety Trial (OVT) data showed a 2.2 bu/A yield advantage for Credenz LibertyLink® soybeans over Asgrow® Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® soybeans. The OVT trials included over 500 observations from trials in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Lousiana, Michigan and Ohio.
It's not just university trial data that is revealing Credenz as a top performer—growers are also sharing their success. Albert Friedrich, a grower in Plainview, Nebraska described his experience, "It was the first year I planted Credenz. They were clean and yielded good and that's what I was looking for. I was getting real sick of getting waterhemp and we didn't run into it using Credenz with the LibertyLink trait." Friedrich continued, "Of all our Credenz fields together, they averaged 72 bu/A and I was real happy with that. I ordered all Credenz soybeans for next year."
For the 2017 growing season, Credenz offers growers 10 new varieties with smart genetics. Smart genetics work to deliver the most advanced soybean variety choices so growers have the strongest foundation available today for varying field conditions. Smart genetics consists of state-of-the-art breeding, herbicide-tolerant traits, tailored varieties and ongoing innovation. These new varieties offer a range of resistant traits and maturity groups to ensure top yields for growers.
Growers can expect approximately 16 new varieties across multiple maturity zones in the U.S. for crop year 2018.
