Third annual Balloons over Horseshoe Bay Resort to feature special shaped balloons, live music and more
Austin favorite Sunny Sweeney to perform live after Saturday's balloon glow finale at Horseshoe Bay Resort's Ranch
HORSESHOE BAY, Texas, March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Twenty hot-air balloons from across America will converge at the award-winning Balloons over Horseshoe Bay Resort on Easter weekend, April 3-5, at the AAA four-diamond Horseshoe Bay Resort. This year's festival will feature new activities including: hayrides, a kid's rock-climbing wall, a canine entertainment show, powered parachutes and a concert by CMT new artist of the year nominee, Sunny Sweeney.
Two special shaped balloons highlight this year's balloon entries. Tweety Bird and Sylvester the Cat are two balloons sure to grab the crowd's attention. Like last year, balloon glows will be held on both Friday and Saturday evenings of the festival.
Friday's opening night festivities (open to resort overnight VIP package guests only) will include tethered hot-air balloon rides for all attendees, live music by the Austin Nines, and a BBQ dinner buffet. Adults will receive wine-tasting tickets to enjoy Hill Country wine tastings.
Saturday's festivities (open to the public) is broken into a morning and evening session. Saturday morning starts with a balloon ascension beginning at 7:00 a.m. followed by a powered parachute demonstration and children's activities including JUMP, the ultimate canine entertainment show.
Saturday evening will include another dog entertainment show, skydivers, the Balloon glow grand finale and concerts by Phoebe Hunt, Hello Wheels and 2013 CMT New artist of the year nominee Sunny Sweeney.
The festival, now in its third year, won a 2015 Gala Award for Best International Fair or Festival.
Tickets for Saturday's festivities are $20 per adult. Children 12 and under are admitted free with parent (limit two free children per accompanying parent). Public parking will be available on-site at the Horseshoe Bay Resort Ranch for $10 per vehicle. Like the tickets, parking passes will be good for both morning and evening sessions.
On Sunday, the festival will conclude with private balloon rides in the morning and a Grand Buffet Gospel Brunch featuring Pamela Hart, live in concert, at the Live Oak Event Lawn at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
