thinkLA Celebrated LA's Cult Of Creativity At 2016 IDEA Awards Gala
Local non-profit partnered with Omelet to introduce Ideationology, an inherently human creative practice, in celebration of advertising's greatest minds
LOS ANGELES, June 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 1,000 of Los Angeles' chosen ones gathered in the Beverly Hilton International Ballroom for the sixth annual thinkLA IDEA Awards Gala last Thursday night, to celebrate the cult of creativity and the brilliant ideas launched the preceding year. The awards, which recognized Southern California's most illuminated creative and tech-savvy brains, was sponsored by Ideationology: an organization dedicated to helping everyone achieve their fullest creative and marketing potential through artistic enlightenment. Originally birthed by Omelet, the LA-based creative agency, and embraced by thinkLA – the non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Los Angeles' media, marketing, and advertising communities – Ideationology taught the local creative community that it's not about what you create… but what you create.
"Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz," said Ryan Fey, Omelet's Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer. "I can feel the internal machine buzzing through my mind visor."
The evening's events included a cocktail reception and dinner followed by the awards gala and after-party. During the gala, host Cody Johns and other presenters bestowed 14 agencies, brands, and individuals with Achievement Awards for the best annual campaigns, companies, and individuals. Submissions, which were produced by and/or for Southern California-based companies and launched in the 2015 calendar year, were judged by the highest powers of advertising, brand, and tech executives outside of the LA market.
Prior to the evening, Omelet (OI Level: MMXVXVXI) – introduced Ideationology to celebrate the cult of creativity and its many devout masters. Using their ether orbs, they erected mighty tributes to the chosen ones along major thoroughfares, including La Cienega, Olympic, Fairfax, and La Brea, to instill the life-affirming blood of inspiration and you know… promote the gala.
"When we first heard of Ideationology, we knew it was right for us. We wanted to know everything and now we do," said Susan Franceschini, thinkLA's Executive Director.
The sold-out event is recapped with photos, and a video to be produced in the coming week.
