Think Energy Sponsors Cy-Fair Educational Foundation's Salute to the Stars Gala

HOUSTON, Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Think Energy, the retail electricity business established by GDF SUEZ Energy Resources to serve small businesses, announced that it will sponsor the Salute to the Stars Gala hosted by the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation on Thursday, Oct. 18, in Cypress, Texas.

The event will recognize outstanding teachers in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District while raising funds to support student scholarships and teacher development grants.  

Deena Morgan, Vice President and General Manager of Think Energy, said the sponsorship reinforces the company's commitment to educational excellence. 

"Having personally experienced the impact these funds can have on a high school graduate, it's a tremendous honor to partner with the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation as a sponsor and to recognize well-deserving teachers and students in the local community," said Morgan, who is a past Cy-Fair Educational Foundation scholarship recipient.

The foundation, established in 1970 to support motivated students with significant financial need in the Cypress- Fairbanks Independent School District, has awarded more than $4.9 million in scholarships to 900 high school graduates and more than $1.6 million has been contributed in teacher development grants.
