Canton Games, located at 2101 Essex Street in Baltimore, is a retail provider of board and card games, comic books, action figures, and other related products. It was chosen by the public from a group of five very competitive finalists, which included Infinite Biomedical Technologies, Machado's Mini Mart, The Quintessential Gentleman, and Rooftop Communications.
As part of the contest, each finalist received a professional-quality video produced at their place of business as well as a package of marketing materials to promote their company. During a two-week public voting period on www.smartestbaltimore.com, Canton Games received the highest number of votes.
"We're excited to bring attention to small businesses in Baltimore and to recognize the important contributions that companies like Canton Games make to the local community and economy," said Deena Morgan, Vice President and General Manager of Think Energy. "Our goal is to support the success of small businesses, and this contest is one way we are demonstrating our commitment to becoming the preferred power provider to small commercial customers in Baltimore."
Think Energy launched Baltimore's Smartest Small Business contest earlier this year for companies in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area that employ 100 people or fewer. Anyone was able to submit nominations – customers, friends, family members, even the small business itself. Before opening the final phase of voting to the public, a panel of small business owners selected the top five finalists based on customer service, products and services, marketing, and company culture.
