Each of the five finalists will have a professional-quality video produced at their place of business and will be given a package of marketing materials to promote their company during the second stage of voting. From July 2 through July 15, the public will be invited to visit www.smartestbaltimore.com to review all the videos and cast their votes for Baltimore's Smartest Small Business. The company with the highest number of votes will be announced at the end of July and will receive one year of free electricity.

- Machado's Mini Mart
- The Quinntessential Gentleman
- Rooftop Communications
These small businesses were nominated through a public voting period and selected as finalists by a panel of small business owners based on the following criteria: customer service, products and services, marketing, and company culture.
