Things Remembered #GivingTuesday Campaign To Benefit Make-A-Wish®
Retailer Pays it Forward with Annual Gift Collection Sales
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio, Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Things Remembered, the nation's largest and most prominent retailer of personalized gifts, will participate in their first-ever #GivingTuesday campaign to benefit Make-A-Wish. #GivingTuesday, celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is a movement that aims to bring together individuals, communities and organizations in the spirit of giving.
"Things Remembered is excited to be able to continue to help children in need and make the holidays better for wish kids," said Lisa Gavales, President and CEO of Things Remembered. "The goal of this year's campaign is centered around #GivingTuesday and the power of collaboration and our company's commitment to influence positive change through acts of generosity, whether big or small; We encourage everyone to join in this year and give back."
Since 1997, customers have been spreading holiday joy to kids with life-threatening medical conditions across the nation by shopping the retailer's exclusive Make-A-Wish line both online and in stores, where $2 from each purchase goes directly to Make-A-Wish.
"For more than 15 years, Things Remembered has supported Make-A-Wish and helped grant wishes through product sales," said David Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. "To date, Things Remembered has successfully raised more than $6.7 million for Make-A-Wish, and we look forward to continuing to change lives together through this year's Giving Tuesday campaign."
This year's Make-A-Wish line includes a seasonal selection of snow globes and keepsake ornaments. And, on #GivingTuesday, all Things Remembered store associates will ask purchasing customers if they want to "round up" their order to the nearest dollar. "It's just spare change to most people, but the extra sixty cents here and forty cents there really adds up." said Gavales.

About Make-A-Wish
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true has positive impacts on the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illness, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. Headquartered in Phoenix, Make-A-Wish is one of the world's leading children's charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 27,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 37 minutes.
