In the interview, Mr. Bullock described ThermoEnergy's zero emission, clean combustion system, a patented pressurized oxycombustion technology, which converts fossil fuels, including coal, oil and natural gas, and biomass into electricity without producing air emissions while removing and capturing carbon dioxide in liquid form for sequestration or beneficial reuse.
The interview also focused on the Company's $27 million contract with the City of New York to deploy an ammonia recovery system at the 26th Ward wastewater treatment plant by Jamaica Bay. Once in full operation, the company's Ammonia Recovery Process (ARP) will have the potential to prevent as much as 2.4 million pounds of ammonia from entering Jamaica Bay each year, helping the City to achieve its goal of improving the health of Jamaica Bay as outlined under Mayor Bloomberg's Jamaica Bay Watershed Protection Plan. The patented ARP process not only captures ammonia in a cost effective manner, but also provides a truly green solution in its ability to convert the ammonia back into a saleable fertilizer.
ThermoEnergy also offers an award winning Controlled Atmosphere Separation Technology (CAST) systems that can be utilized as stand-alone wastewater or chemical recovery systems, or as part of an integrated plant-wide recovery solution. The award winning aspect of the CAST technology involves its ability to truly offer a "Zero Liquid discharge" solution, which is becoming a particularly important requirement around the world. Its water technologies also include Compliance Systems that are designed to meet local and federal regulatory mandates; Primary Recovery Systems, designed to treat majority of an operation's wastewater for reuse and concentrate the contaminants; and Final Recovery Systems designed to treat the remaining concentrate contaminants for disposal or additional processing to achieve zero liquid discharge.
