Great Aussie Sale features offers from Qantas Airways, Orbitz.com, Liberty Travel and more partners on Australia.com
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tourism Australia (TA) today kicks-off a month-long Great Aussie Sale, featuring the best value-added and time-sensitive deals and vacation itineraries.
A land of adventure and friendly locals, Australia has ranked No. 1 ten out of 12 years in an annual Harris Poll asking Americans "if (they) could vacation in any country in the world outside the U.S., without any worry about cost."
The Great Aussie Sale featuring nearly 20 travel partners from Orbitz to Qantas coincides with "The Oprah Winfrey Show: Oprah's Ultimate Australian Adventure" airing January 18-21, 2011 and gives Americans the chance to take that dream trip with enticing offers from up to 30 percent off on travel to free flights and hotel nights.
"Australia is front-and-center right now thanks to episodes of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' airing this week," said Tourism Australia Regional General Manager, Daryl Hudson. "The Great Aussie Sale lets travelers book their own deals, with specials on airfare, hotels, excursions and more. There's nothing like the experiences you'll have in Australia."
Sample deals, available at www.australia.com, include:*

- Fly Qantas to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane from Los Angeles for $449, from Dallas/Fort Worth for $474, and from New York from $549**

Australia received good news last week with the announcement that Qantas will begin new direct service to Australia from Dallas operating four times per week between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Sydney via Brisbane, and return direct from Sydney to Dallas/Fort Worth from May 2011.
Qantas also announced additional Los Angeles-New York services, by increasing existing services from six times per week to daily from June 2011.
"More air services offers travelers more options and shows that it is easy to get to Australia with over 80 flights each week between the USA and Australia," Mr. Hudson said. "The fact that the new services will fly direct to Brisbane from Dallas/Fort Worth will deliver considerable benefits to the traveler."
