SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- All is merry, bright and full of delight at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, as this AAA Five Diamond resort transforms into a winter wonderland in the desert during its annual "Christmas at the Princess" festival, November 20, 2014 – January 4, 2015. The enchanting hotel glistens with holiday splendor featuring a four-story musical tree, the Desert Ice Rink, Princess Express Train, magical snowfalls, Lagoon Lights, a new Christmas Carousel – and of course – jolly ol' St. Nick.
Over 2 million dazzling LED lights illuminate the resort's majestic lagoons, where visitors stroll through a lit fantasy land to see graceful swans floating on the water, a buccaneer pirate ship, 14-foot poinsettias, a teddy bear, toy soldiers, a candy cane forest and a reflective Nativity Garden Light Show set to music. New for 2014 are lit leaping arches, Nessie the 30-foot Loch Ness Monster, 3-D giant reindeer, a 20-foot Snow Kong, elves peeking around trees and a singing tree family.
Other holiday festivities include strolling carolers, marshmallow roasts, lighting of the menorah and a nightly video light show set to music and projected against the resort's facade. "Christmas at the Princess" is open to the public. Admission is complimentary for hotel guests and restaurant guests. Admission/parking for non-hotel guests is $30 for self-parking, per vehicle after 5 p.m. The light shows, Princess Express Train and Christmas Carousel are complimentary. Skating and photos with Santa are priced separately.
