SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- All is merry, bright and full of delight at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, as this AAA Five Diamond resort transforms into a winter wonderland in the desert during its annual "Christmas at the Princess" festival, November 20, 2014 – January 4, 2015. The enchanting hotel glistens with holiday splendor featuring a four-story musical tree, the Desert Ice Rink, Princess Express Train, magical snowfalls, Lagoon Lights, a new Christmas Carousel – and of course – jolly ol' St. Nick.

The 5th Annual "Christmas at the Princess" festival at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Arizona runs November 20, 2014 through January 5, 2015, with the Desert Ice Skating Rink extending its run through February 1, 2015. Holiday features include a four-story musical tree, 2 million Lagoon Lights, Princess Express Train, Christmas Carousel, marshmallow roasts and special holiday spa, shopping, dining and cocktail offerings throughout the resort's award-winning outlets.

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess' Desert Ice Skating Rink debuts on November 20, 2014 and is open to the public through Super Bowl Sunday, February 1, 2015.

This four-story musical tree at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Arizona is set with 67,000 LED lights that twinkle and dance to 12 different songs, setting the stage for a Princess Express Train ride through Lagoon Lights, a fantasy land with more than 2 million lights along the water.

Over 2 million dazzling LED lights illuminate the resort's majestic lagoons, where visitors stroll through a lit fantasy land to see graceful swans floating on the water, a buccaneer pirate ship, 14-foot poinsettias, a teddy bear, toy soldiers, a candy cane forest and a reflective Nativity Garden Light Show set to music. New for 2014 are lit leaping arches, Nessie the 30-foot Loch Ness Monster, 3-D giant reindeer, a 20-foot Snow Kong, elves peeking around trees and a singing tree family.

Other holiday festivities include strolling carolers, marshmallow roasts, lighting of the menorah and a nightly video light show set to music and projected against the resort's facade. Several unique food and beverage experiences range from Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak to the new Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar at the TPC Scottsdale and La Hacienda by Richard Sandoval.

"Christmas at the Princess" is open to the public. Admission is complimentary for hotel guests and restaurant guests. Admission/parking for non-hotel guests is $30 for self-parking, per vehicle after 5 p.m. The light shows, Princess Express Train and Christmas Carousel are complimentary.
