Therap Supports FSS Billing Rates Introduced by New Jersey Department of Human Services
Family Support Services (FSS) providers in NJ bill for respite services in accordance with new rates
TRENTON, N.J., July 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Therap is currently supporting providers who submit electronic claims to FSS. Family Support Services (FSS) providers will be able to bill in 15-minute increments in accordance with the new rates introduced by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, effective from Friday, July 1, 2016. This change affects Respite services including Agency Hired Respite, Self Hired Respite Agency, After School Respite Agency, and Weekend Recreation provided from July 1 and onward.
Therap's billing support specialist, Marie Roland, says, "Providers' authorizations in CYBER will remain the same; PerformCare and CSOC are not splitting or converting any existing authorization that includes dates from July 1 forward. We are asking that FSS providers bill for services provided up to and including June 30, 2016 on a separate Claims Form delivered on or after July 1, 2016."
FSS providers using Therap's electronic billing systems may create new claims for services delivered on or after July 1, 2016.
Additionally, "Molina is aware of the implementation of changes to how providers will be billing – from one hour increments to 15-minute increments – and they are managing that change on their end. New authorizations that are created on or after July 1 will be created with 15-minute increments," states Marie Rowland.
Therap's electronic claim generation process meets the HIPAA Version 5010 standard for electronic claim transactions. Therap's billing applications allows for daily, weekly and monthly unit capture for billable services with rounding algorithms that calculate an array of time increments. The rounding algorithm options minimize loss of service times and ensure that providers receive the full reimbursements for services provided. Therap's billable service tracking modules record services from the point of delivery. The attendance information of individuals receiving a specific type of service is recorded and used to generate billable 837 claims. Services may range from hourly to daily and is predefined for the individual receiving services.
