SEATTLE, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- thePlatform, the leading white-label video publishing company, today announced a number of executive advancements to enhance the company's focus on metrics-driven customer experience, streamline sales activities, and scale the business globally.
Alex Glass, who currently serves as vice president of global operations, will now serve in the newly created role of chief information officer (CIO). Marty Roberts, who previously served as vice president of sales and marketing, has been promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing worldwide. Michael (Mike) Horwitz, formerly vice president of engineering, has been promoted to senior vice president of engineering.

As CIO, Mr. Glass will manage business intelligence, security, service availability, and worldwide system performance. He previously served as vice president of global operations. He also served as vice president of client services, director of customer service, and as a solutions architect with thePlatform. Prior to joining thePlatform, Glass was with Digeo, Inc. where he worked as both a project and program manager. Glass will continue to report to Ian Blaine, CEO of thePlatform.
Mr. Roberts now leads worldwide sales and account management, overseeing all revenue generation, business development, product management, marketing, public relations, and thePlatform's extensive partner program. Mr. Roberts previously served as vice president of sales and marketing, and as vice president of marketing at thePlatform. Prior to joining thePlatform, Roberts was an executive at GiftCertificates.com, and was a pioneer in the development of online video and digital media services at RealNetworks. Roberts will continue to report to Blaine.
Mr. Horwitz will add development operations (DevOps) to his existing responsibilities for the company's core product development, testing and deployment, and operational business intelligence, including capacity planning and metrics monitoring. Previously, Horwitz held numerous senior-level engineering positions at Comcast Corp. Most recently, he served as senior director, engineering for Comcast Converged Products. Before that, he was senior manager of engineering and principal engineer, both for Comcast Interactive Media. Horwitz will continue to report to Blaine.
The other members of Ian Blaine's senior management team at thePlatform remain unchanged, with Jamie Miller serving as COO & CFO, Alan Ramaley as CTO, Simon McGrath as GM of Europe, and Tina Santos as chief legal counsel.
