TheLadders Seizes Mobile Disruption with JobMobile
-- Inaugural Nationwide Event Series Celebrates Mobile-Recruitment Best Practices --
NEW YORK, March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --To celebrate innovations and strategies in mobile recruitment, premier job-matching service, TheLadders, today announced the launch of JobMobile. Throughout 2013, the unique, nationwide series of events will bring together recruitment thought leaders in four major employment hubs: New York City, San Francisco, Atlanta and Chicago.
Years ago, early adopters of mobile, especially social media and the games, news and music industries, began building mobile-friendly sites to accommodate the surge of consumers who started relying more heavily on their mobile devices. However, for the most part, the job search has remained a PC-based experience – until now. According to IDC's 2013 predictions, by 2015, there will be more U.S. consumers accessing the Internet via mobile devices than through PCs. Now, with the explosion of job seekers turning to their mobile devices to pursue searches while on-the-go, TheLadders is urging its more than 35,000 employers to integrate mobile technology into their recruiting strategies or risk missing out on the country's best talent.
"Long-gone are the days when recruiting was confined to the office – the proliferation of mobile has dramatically changed the hiring landscape," said Alexandre Douzet, CEO & co-founder of TheLadders. "Job seekers are turning to their mobile devices to search for jobs, expand their networks, and get a leg up on their competition. Hiring managers need to increase their accessibility to meet this rising demand, which is exactly what we aim to accomplish with JobMobile."
Last January, TheLadders began restructuring its job-matching service through a mobile-first lens by rolling out its new mobile-responsive website, which is optimized to fit any screen. In addition to a slick interface and more intuitive navigation, the new site includes TheLadders Scout, a proprietary competitive-analysis tool that allows members to size themselves up against their competition even before applying to a job. Later this spring, TheLadders will launch a game-changing, native mobile app for its more than 5 million job seekers and 35,000 employers, offering them convenient, on-the-go access.
"While there are existing mobile apps that support the job search, most have merely transformed the PC experience to a smaller screen, without adapting it for mobile," said Ben Grohe, Product Manager for TheLadders. "Essentially, the when, where and how you use a smartphone should define the experience of the job search – and that's exactly why TheLadders' app will succeed where so many have failed."
In addition to sharing its own best practices at JobMobile, with Douzet as a keynote speaker, TheLadders will host an esteemed panel of industry thought leaders at each event to share their experiences and spark conversation about mobile recruiting. Furthermore, JobMobile will honor TheLadders ELITE, the top 1 percent of recruiting professionals in TheLadders' most-engaged recruiting markets – New York, San Francisco, Atlanta and Chicago.
The first JobMobile event will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2013, in New York City. For more information or to RSVP, visit TheLadders.com/JobMobile. To view the full list of TheLadders ELITE honorees, visit TheLadders' RecruitBlog.
