The Y Wants to Help Bring Your Community Service Idea to Life
My Fresh Page Project to award $20,000 towards doing good in communities nationwide
CHICAGO, Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Y wants members of the community to share innovative ideas to make their neighborhoods better as part of its third annual My Fresh Page Project. The Y understands that small ideas can have a big impact and will award a total of $20,000 to fund 10 ideas that impact communities.
Giving back and providing support to neighbors is a vital part of the Y's commitment to social responsibility. The Y recognizes an innovative idea can go a long way, and invites individuals or groups to submit their project concepts by visiting ymca.net/freshpage. Community members from across the nation will be able to vote for their favorite idea now through October 24, 2014.
A panel of Y judges will review entries with the most votes and 10 finalists will receive funds to help make their idea a reality in their community. The Y will grant:
- Three $5,000 awards
- Three $1,000 awards
- Four $500 awards
Entering is easy and can be completed in five steps:
- Visit the YMCA's My Fresh Page Project page and select "Enter" from now until October 24, 2014.
- Fill out all the required fields.
- Select the correct prize level to make your project a reality.
- Describe the idea (500 words or less) and upload a photo or video.
- Share your idea with others and encourage them to vote. Users may vote once a day for one idea from each prize level through October 24.
