The World's Largest Music Distributor, TuneCore, Announces Lowest Album Distribution Price Industry Wide
Industry Leader, TuneCore, Lowers Fees Opening Opportunities for More Artists
NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TuneCore, the largest distributor and one of the highest revenue-generating music catalogues in the world, announced today the company has drastically reduced yearly distribution subscription fees, changing the pricing landscape in the distribution industry. In doing so, TuneCore continues to support the emerging and indie artist community by providing an even more economical music distribution channel, creating the opportunity for more artists to make money from their music and attract new listeners.
"Our business model and continuous improvements to our platform have given us the opportunity to lower our flat-rate fees," explains Scott Ackerman, TuneCore COO. "A lower rate paired with the fact that we do not take a percentage of artist sales like some other providers continues to position us as the partner of choice for digital music distribution. This pricing update allows TuneCore to open the door for more artists to sell their music online, which has always been our first priority."
Effective December 10, 2012, the new pricing has reduced the one-year album distribution by 40% and one-year single distribution by 33%. In addition to prices unseen elsewhere, TuneCore Artists will continue to benefit from services and features like top-rated customer care, detailed music sales reporting, and iTunes weekly trending reports. Finally, they will continue to have access to TuneCore's exclusive song rights management service, TuneCore Publishing Administration, an integrated service not available from any other digital music distributor.
