HOUSTON, Dec. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time in The Woman's Hospital of Texas history, the hospital delivered more than 11,000 babies in one year. Cinthia and Albert Lee and big brother Armani welcomed Alijah George into the world at 2:08 a.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Alijah weighs 7 pounds, 9 ounces and is 20 inches long. The Lee's are from Houston and were thrilled to be the record-setting family.
"We are so excited that our baby is a first for The Woman's Hospital of Texas," Cinthia said. "We love The Woman's Hospital of Texas." This was certainly a family affair for Cinthia and her sister, Nayeli Rogel, as both had baby boys at The Woman's Hospital this week. "We were due on the same day but Nayeli delivered on Sunday," said Cinthia. Grandma, Alejandra Rogel, left the hospital on Tuesday with Nayeli only to return the following day to be with Cinthia. "We have two more blessings this Christmas. This has brought so much joy to our family," Grandma said.
Baby Alijah George was delivered by Dr. Dawn Black, a physician with OB GYN Medical Center Associates.
The family was presented with a supply of baby items from Babies R Us, Doodles Baby Gifts and More, Lori's Gift Shops, Vera Bradley and Walgreens at 7400 Fannin.
"We are honored that more Houstonians choose The Woman's Hospital of Texas to help welcome their children into the world and be part of memories that will last a lifetime," said Ashley McClellan, CEO of The Woman's Hospital of Texas. "Our Baby-Number-11,000 milestone is a testament to the enduring trust the physicians and employees of Woman's have earned from families for more than 39 years. To all the families we have served for more than 39 years, The Woman's Hospital of Texas thanks you, and to Alijah George and his family, we are so glad to welcome you here."
