The Winters Group Announces New Appointments to Leadership Team
BOWIE, Md., June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Winters Group, Inc., a leading global diversity and inclusion (D&I) consulting firm, today announced new appointments to its leadership team. Mareisha Reese was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Brittany Harris joined the firm as its Director of Innovation and New Ventures.
Mareisha will have primary responsibility for leading the firm's finance, human resources, information systems, and client management operations. Her promotion comes after serving as Vice President since joining the firm in 2012. "In the four years that Mareisha has been with The Winters Group, she has propelled us to a new level of operation and technology," said Mary-Frances Winters, The Winters Group CEO. "Her business acumen is now going to be utilized as COO to help us effectively manage our growth."
Prior to joining the Winters Group, Mareisha worked as a Program Manager at Johnson C. Smith University, where she had primary responsibility for administering grants focused on diversity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. She also spent six years with Northrop Grumman in the areas of business management, supply chain management and engineering. Mareisha holds undergraduate degrees in computer science and electrical engineering from Spellman College and Georgia Institute of Technology. She received her MBA and MS in information systems from the University of Maryland.
In her new role, Brittany will provide the strategic direction for The Winters Group's inaugural community investment program, manage the firm's public relations, and support the development and delivery of innovative D&I learning experiences for the firm's clients. "We are delighted to have Brittany join The Winters Group. As we grow and expand globally, Brittany's experience will help to propel us to the next phase of executing our mission," said Mary-Frances. Brittany succeeds Travis Jones who will now serve as a Principal Consultant at the firm.
Brittany has held previous roles in corporate diversity and inclusion, training, and affirmative action consulting. Most recently, Brittany was the Manager, Diversity & Inclusion for Bright House Networks, a Florida-based cable systems provider where she was responsible for partnering with business leaders to develop and implement the organization's first D&I program. Brittany received her Masters of Professional Studies in Diversity and Inclusion Management from Georgetown University and her Bachelors in Journalism from Howard University.
Mareisha and Brittany will be based in the Charlotte, NC and DC Metro areas, respectively.
