TUXEDO, N.Y., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Related Companies' The Village at Tuxedo Reserve, a vibrant community hub at the heart of the Tuxedo Reserve neighborhood in the Town of Tuxedo, is set to open a new location of The Goddard School, a nationally acclaimed early childhood education franchise, in New York's Hudson Valley in fall 2027. Guiding the curriculum is the school's signature inquiry-based education program, Wonder of Learning®, a teaching and learning approach that focuses on the natural curiosity and sense of wonder children bring into the classroom. Developed by a diversely skilled group of educators, researchers, physicians and early childhood experts, the cutting-edge curriculum also includes built-in assessment of academic and social-emotional progress and family communication via a proprietary app. With teacher-guided inquiry topics, children learn about themselves and the world by exploring their interests, investigating concepts and asking questions.
"The Village at Tuxedo Reserve is creating an exceptional destination for families, and we are honored to be part of that vision," said Jason Cho, owner of The Goddard School of Tuxedo. "From the moment we began exploring this opportunity, we saw a strong need for high-quality early childhood education in the area. Our school will provide a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment where children can learn through inquiry, exploration and play, all while giving families convenience and peace of mind."
Serving children from six weeks to six years old with full-day, year-round care, the 10,000-square-foot early childhood education center will sit on a two-acre landscaped lot, with 5,000 square feet of surrounding play yards and dedicated adjacent parking for easy drop-off. It will accommodate 130 students in 11 classrooms and create approximately 20 staff positions. The school will expand early childhood education and daycare offerings for families in Tuxedo and the surrounding region, while offering Tuxedo Reserve residents the convenience of walking to school. The school is designed to complement the area's established schools and give young families of Tuxedo a full continuum of excellent education options nearby. Many students will go on to the Tuxedo Union Free School District, an easy walk or bike ride from Tuxedo Reserve, or private education opportunities including Tuxedo Park School a few minutes away in Tuxedo Park.
"The Goddard School is one of the most trusted names in daycare and early childhood education, and will seamlessly complement the strong educational network already serving the area," said Greg Gushee, Executive Vice President at Related Companies. "We are thrilled to welcome The Goddard School of Tuxedo as a new resource for residents and the broader community - one that will help shape the next generation of students while advancing our vision for The Village at Tuxedo Reserve as an intentionally designed destination where the community can live, play, learn, and grow together."
Surrounding the school, The Village will offer families convenient access to shopping, dining, wellness, and year-round community programming. The Village is anchored by Market Square, which features a timber-framed destination food market (the Barn Market); a Stagehouse for performances and entertainment for all ages; and The Village Green, which will serve as a hub for family-friendly events, seasonal activities and later as a seasonal skating rink that will welcome community members for skating, lessons, hockey programming, and birthday parties. A playground, sports field, and hiking trails will provide families with ample opportunities to explore and play as well, while serving as shared spaces for residents and locals to connect and enjoy the neighborhood. The Village's ice-skating rink is slated to officially open this fall, following first move-ins for the rental apartments in October. The shops, dining, retail offerings, amenities, and more will begin opening next year, throughout the winter and spring.
Beth Reichgott of Nova North Commercial represented the landlord, while Brian Knowles of Sullivan Hayes Group represented The Goddard School.
