The Venue Alliance Packs Programming Punch for Members
Venues Gaining Access to More Exciting Programming Options
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. and HOUSTON, July 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Venue Alliance, appearing in booth #1103 at the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) Venue Connect conference in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, continues its mission of providing a growing member base the advantages of being in a network dedicated to bringing more events and concert opportunities, and providing full-time advocacy on behalf of member buildings.
The Venue Alliance is an organization working full-time on behalf of member venues for better programming opportunities, bookings and other advocacy services. Recent negotiations include Nickelodeon's "Yo Gabba Gabba" at Lakeland Center and Ralston Arena, "Batman Live" at Houston's Berry Center, the booking of the Summerland Tour featuring Everclear, Sugar Ray and others at the Hartman Arena in Kansas. Additional offers are in the works for Chicago, Extreme International Ice Racing, "Experience Hendrix" and a new country and rock package.
In addition to finding and negotiating events, The Venue Alliance is also promoting and co-promoting events with its member arenas. "Even with the numerous opportunities they have been able to get for us, our hands are somewhat tied with the number of shows we can bring to the Berry Center," explained Beth Wade, General Manager. "The Venue Alliance and Three Zebras Entertainment do more than just talk about events, they put their money where their mouth is and play an active role in promoting shows here. Last year when we had Cirque du Soleil here, I didn't have a marketing person on staff so they also handled all of our marketing, and helped us fill seats. That's a great partner."
"Independent venues often find themselves at a disadvantage trying to book and drive programming to their buildings. The Venue Alliance is like having another full time employee working to overcome those challenges, as well as providing other benefits and opportunities," said Ed Morrell, Managing Director of Three Zebras Entertainment, which delivers programming for The Venue Alliance. "At the same time, agents and promoters appreciate making one call to get access to all of the markets at once."
Buildings interested in learning more about joining The Venue Alliance can speak with Michael Patrick, Managing Director of The Venue Alliance, at the IAVM Venue Connect trade show in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, this weekend (July 21-24, 2012) in booth #1103. Interested parties can also visit thevenuealliance.com or find them on Twitter @venuealliance.
