About Rick Friedman
Rick Friedman brings to USC more than twenty years professional experience establishing business relationships that support the commercial development of early stage technologies. He has served effectively in leadership roles in a university technology commercialization office, a publicly-traded software company and a law firm, as well as in non-profit organizations.
Prior to joining USC, Rick served as Associate Director of Licensing at the University of Texas at Austin where he played a significant role in increasing deal flow and revenues, developing an infrastructure to scale operations, and establishing relationships for recurring business with major strategic partners.
Rick also has considerable experience in financing and exit transactions for technology ventures as a result of his work as a partner in the Silicon Valley office of Heller Ehrman and as a consultant to technology startups and investors.
"Throughout my career, I have been attracted to opportunities at organizations committed to the advancement of new technologies," said Rick Friedman. "Given the national reputation for innovation programs at USC, the strong support for these programs by senior leadership at the university, the fact that Los Angeles is becoming a major center for technology advancement, and the scientific and entrepreneurial talent within the university, I am extremely excited to join the team at USC Stevens to help USC innovators make a broad impact with their ideas."
Expanded Executive Team
The new senior executive team at USC will also include Dr. Richard Hull, who will move into the role of Senior Director for New Ventures and Alliances.
